The Free Developer Edition is fully working version of webappVM capable of running on one node.

Is there a commercial version for developers?

The Developer Edition of webappVM is free.  It is a fully working version of webappVM capable of running on two nodes.  The commercial version of webappVM will be priced per node and will be capable of running behind the firewall or at cloud service providers such as Amazon or Rackspace.
